Alexandrite glass, or Neodymium, has special chemical qualities that enable it to change colors depending on the lighting source it's viewed in. In natural outdoor lighting, this piece turns pinkish/purple, while under fluorescent lighting it immediately turns to more of a greyish/blue lavender shade. It's EXTREMELY rare and mostly found in sea glass form on a specific beach in Russia.
This authentic, large sized chunk has a lovely frost to it and any minor flaws have been either expertly touched up or hidden. It's wrapped with silver-over-copper 16G wire treated to be tarnish resistant.
Pendant measures 2.25" from top to bottom, and 1.75" in width. It comes presented on an 18" silverplated snake chain.
