Colorful art glass piece from England is wrapped bezel style with thick, 18 gauge silver-over-copper wire, treated to be tarnish resistant.
This type of glass was mainly used for decorative vases and such. The pieces I obtained were found along the Thames estuary, where folks commonly cast away all sorts of glass, pottery, and historical items many years ago. In order to facilitate a clean bezel wire wrap for this piece, I used a Dremel to smooth a few of the jagged, sharp edges and reshaped it a bit before applying the wrap.
Pendant comes present on an 18” silverplated chain with a 2” extender for more length is needed.
Pendant measures just over 3.25” from top to bottom, and is 1.75” at it’s widest point. This piece is surprisingly lightweight!
