Ikaros pottery has always been a favorite of mine, not only for it's colorful, handpainted patterns, but for it's rarity and interesting history. Here's a link with lots of info. and pictures if you'd like to learn more about Ikaros and see additional photos: http://www.ceramopolis.com/?page_id=692
Each beautiful and colorful Ikaros sea pottery piece I use in my jewelry designs comes from the shorelines of Rhodes, Greece, the very same city in which it was originally made. These pieces are now quite rare to find, but a joy for me to transform into beautiful jewelry pieces meant to be worn often and loved much!
The piece is wrapped “bezel style” with thick, sturdy, 16 gauge, silver-over-copper wire treated to be tarnish resistant.
Pendant comes displayed on a 5mm wide, hammered style, silver plated steel neck wire. It's 17" in diameter and has a self hooking clasp at the nape of the neck.
Not into neck wires? No problem! It can be swapped out for an 18” silver plated, 3mm thick snake chain instead. Please make note of the swap during check out (or send a private message ...or both) and it shall be done.
Pendant measures 3.75“ from the top of it’s bail to the bottom, and is 1.5“ at it’s widest point.
